Advice for Road Runners: The HOKA Men's Clifton 9 GORE-TEX Running Shoes are completely waterproof. The outsole features extra grip to improve traction on wet pavements.
Underfoot Feel
The HOKA Clifton 9 GORE-TEX Running Shoes have exactly the same midsole as the standard model. You should expect a soft, yet energetic underfoot experience.
Pavements and roads can be slippy when it's raining. A key difference between the standard Clifton and GORE-TEX edition is the grip on offer. As the Clifton 9 GORE-TEX outsole has weather-ready traction pods, you should feel more confident when running on wet surfaces.
We should note, the Clifton 9 GORE-TEX are slightly heavier than the standard edition. This is because of the waterproof upper and additional grip.
Upper Fit
As the HOKA Clifton 9 GORE-TEX uses Invisible Fit technology, the fit should be very similar to the standard edition. To be clear, the upper is completely waterproof.
360-degree-reflectivity also makes the upper more visible in low light conditions.
Ideal Run Conditions
We recommend using the HOKA Men's Clifton 9 GORE-TEX Running Shoes for road runs in the rain. As the upper offers some additional insulation, they should keep your feet warmer in cold conditions.
It goes without saying these are a great option for walking. Say goodbye to wet socks on your commute to work.

Sizing Advice
Shoe size is a personal preference and everyone's feet are different, but we want to ensure you avoid any pain or discomfort from bruised toenails, rubbing, blistering or pins and needles.
Your running shoes should have enough width to allow you to spread your toes and should have some space at the front (we recommend having a half to one thumb's width of space from the end of your longest toe to the front of your running shoes).
This usually means that your running shoe will be at least a half size bigger than your regular shoe size though this can vary from brand to brand.
